Harrington Medical will be increasing fees for some services from 1st May 2024.

The cost of doctor consultations will not change.

Please see below for a list of updated fees:

  • Consultation (in clinic, over phone, over video) €60 
  • Consultation (student with valid ID) (in clinic, over phone, over video) €40
  • Review consultation (in clinic, over phone, over video) (regarding same issue within one month) €40
  • Consultation regarding contraception for women, girls, trans and non-binary people, aged 17 to 31 years only Free for eligible patients
  • Blood Tests €30 (Medical card /Doctor Visit card holders €15)
  • Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD) screen €100 (cost includes consultation and tests)
  • Repeat Prescriptions  €10 / €15 / €20 (1 / 3 / 6 months) See our Repeat Prescription page for further details
  • Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitor  €75 (This service is free for medical card / doctor visit card holders). This involves two visits, one to have the monitor applied and the second to have it removed 24 hours later when the readings will be interpreted by your doctor and a management plan devised if necessary.
  • Cervical Smear: Women aged 25-60 are eligible for a free smear as part of CervicalCheck, the National Cervical Screening Programme.  See our Women’s Health section of services provided for further information. 
  • Ear Syringe: (removal of stubborn ear wax which is causing impaired hearing or pain) €50
  • Consultation for administration of injection only e.g. Vitamin B12 / Tetanus / Hepatitis vaccinations/ Depo-Provera:  €40
  • Flu vaccination €20 (fee only for those not eligible for free vaccination – see our Flu vaccination page). 
  • Cryotherapy €40 (first visit) then €20 for each subsequent treatment on same warts.
  • Travel Vaccinations for Harrington Medical Registered Patients** €40 (for consultation with nurse during which the type and number of vaccinations needed is discussed depending on when/where you are travelling) and €40 (for administration of vaccinations). The cost of each vaccination is discussed on the Travel vaccination page. If malarial prophylaxis is needed this can be arranged at no extra charge. 
  • Driving Licence Medical examination** €60
  • Passport Form** €25
  • Documentation fee** €20  (Work Certs, Letters etc.)

Medical Card Clients

We accept valid Medical and Doctor Visit card patients (including under 8′s and over 70′s): this is a means tested benefit and means that the government pays for your medical care by yearly capitation fee.  We also accept the valid European Health Insurance Card (EHIC).  This means that EU citizens holidaying or studying in Ireland do not have to pay to see us.
