Repeat prescriptions can be requested in person at the surgery, over the phone or in writing.

If you require a routine prescription and the doctor has indicated that you don’t need to be reviewed, please allow us more than 48 hours notice before your medications run out.

Two working days are needed to prepare prescriptions between taking requests, updating the computer information, checking and printing the prescriptions, and finally having them reviewed and signed by the Doctor. Therefore it is generally not possible to issue repeat prescriptions on demand. On occasion patients will be asked to see the Doctor regarding their prescription. This may be to discuss how well a particular medication is working or require a specific test, such as a blood test or blood pressure check, to ensure the medication is working or not causing you any harm.

If you have run out of medication and you use a regular pharmacist, he/she may be able to supply you with some of your routine medication in anticipation of your getting a prescription. Once completed, prescriptions will be left at reception for collection.
